Welcome to the Home Page for Humboldt Saskatchewan

In what is now central Saskatchewan, there was a stagecoach depot on the Carlton Trail known as the Humboldt Telegraph Station and Post, named after the famed German author, explorer and scientist Baron Alexander von Humboldt. Today, although the Carlton Trail and stage coaches and telegraphs are long gone, Humboldt remains, a vibrant community of 5,500 and growing. Humboldt is Saskatchewan's newest city. One of the best-known sights in the Humboldt area, and one of Saskatchewan's Seven Man-Made Marvels is St. Peter's Cathedral and Abbey just east of Humboldt, near Muenster. The cathedral, built by the monks and early pioneers in 1908, is an excellent example of German design and artwork. Humboldt Saskatchewan is a wonderful place to live or visit.
